What Is..?

What is Co-Renting?

Co-Renting is simply rental flat-sharing. Because flat-sharing is unquestionably the most cost effective way of renting it has become very popular in recent years.

If you are not yet ready for the responsibility, expense or seriousness of home ownership then co-renting is for you. The other alternative is if you are looking to buy, but would like to with a co-buyer, co-renting is a great way of trying before you buy with that person. Nothing can help you find out what someone will be like to live with better than... well... living with them. It's an inexpensive and effective way of finding out whether your potential co-buyer partner is they one you should be co-buying with.

What is Co-Buying?

Co-Buying is when two or more people decide to buy a property together. It's very much like rental flat-sharing but instead of wasting money on rent, you join forces to afford to buy what you want where you want to live.

You can co-buy with anyone you like; family, friends, or you could find someone you like from the thousands of people across the UK who have already registered on our site.

By Co-Buying you'll combine your funds and be able to afford somewhere bigger, better and sooner than you could alone, and as you'll be sharing all the costs of buying and owning a property your outgoings will be far lower.

What is Co-Investing?

Co-Investing is co-buying when you don't live in the property but buy with one or more others for investment purposes.

Maybe you are interested in the rental yeild of the property, or you're looking at it from a long term capital return perspective, you might even be looking to buy to renovate and sell on. Co-Investing is not restricted to just property in the UK. It could be homes abroad or even land (which is just as popular as property to invest in these days, if not more so).

Co-Investing is for anyone from the complete novice to the professional investor. By joining forces with someone else you can combine investment funds, knowledge and experience and become a formidable investment partnership.

Why Would You..?

Why buy with someone else?

Buying with others has a number of advantages. The most important of which are:
  • Firstly you'll have more money to spend by combining your funds so you'll be able to afford a bigger property or a nicer/more convenient location or something in better condition than you could if you were buying on your own. Combining your finances could be the difference between not affording a property at all, and finally being able to make it onto the property ladder.
  • Secondly, you'll be splitting all the costs of buying the property and running it after you move in. Solicitors fees, surveys, mortgage arrangement fees, stamp duty, bills, maintenance, service charges, etc. can all be divided between you. As the costs go down you'll be able to save more (or spend on more important stuff like Saturday night, holidays and shoes).
  • Thirdly, because you'll be able to buy sooner than you could alone, and because you'll be spending less to do so you'll be better protected from a falling market and can equally take better advantage of the profit potential of a rising market.
